Nancy Elizabeth Prophet (1890-196) graduated from the Rhode Island School of Design in 1918. Citing a lack of employment opportunities in both Rhode Island and New York, Nancy Elizabeth Prophet left the United States for Paris, France, in [1921 or] 1922. Though her husband remained in Providence, he joined her in Paris soon after her arrival. (The Rhode Islander, 10)
