Newspaper clipping: "... On the 24th of June, 1807, near Salisbury, and committed to jail, a runaway slave, who says his name is TONY, and says he belongs to a Mr. Richard Wiln or Ware, in Amelia County, Va. He is about 5 feet high, and 35 or 40 years old; he talks broken English, and says he runaway from his master as he was going to the south to sell him..."
